When we launched our pilot program in Chicalim, Goa, we knew the stakes were high. This was our opportunity to prove that technology could transform waste management in India.
The Challenge
Chicalim, like many localities in Goa, struggled with: - Unreliable waste collection schedules - No visibility into collection operations - Illegal dumping due to lack of traceability - Manual, paper-based reporting systems
Our Solution
We deployed the Reclevo App (RWDP) to create a complete digital ecosystem connecting businesses, collectors, drivers, and facilities.
Key Features Deployed 1. **GPS Tracking**: Real-time location tracking for all collection vehicles 2. **Digital Manifests**: Complete documentation of every waste collection trip 3. **Photo Verification**: Drivers capture photos at pickup and drop-off points 4. **Token System**: Dynamic capacity management for processing facilities
Results After 3 Months
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Average trips/day | 12 | 28+ |
| Tracking visibility | 0% | 100% |
| Illegal dumping incidents | Weekly | Zero |
| Report generation time | 2 days | Instant |
What We Learned
- **Multilingual support is essential** - We added Konkani, Marathi, and Hindi to ensure driver adoption
- **Simple UX wins** - Drivers prefer large buttons and minimal text input
- **Government partnership matters** - Having municipal support accelerated adoption
Next Steps
We're now expanding to all 14 municipalities across Goa, with a target of 300 trips/day by Q2 2025.
